The EP titles Songs From my Italian Soul (on Spotify) and Songs From My Southern County (on Soundcloud) are lush productions from Malmö where soulful folkpop meets jazz-infused latin vibes and exquisite balladry, showcasing Anna Louise's immense vocal ability and register, as well as her command of many languages, including a Swedish song performed in her own original dialect.
Hialøsa is a trio playing traditional music from the Scandinavian region of Scania. The trio is currently active with the concert “Scanian very old pop”. The concert is based on traditional music material, fragments, songs and new compositions. Traditional, disruptive and honest. Feet stomping, energetic and always shifting, driven by intense violins and a rythmical bass. Songs about life and death, remembrance of a past looking towards the future.
Yasmine Baramawy is an Egyptian musician, sound artist, oud performer and composer based in Malmö, Sweden. She has developed an original sound universe around her practice of the oud (modified and augmented by a low string) but also around concrete music and other electronic experiments. She plays one of the world’s oldest instruments yet she manages to work with a curious blend of different approaches and genres.
Floating Sofa Quartet is a modern Nordic folk music ensemble consisting of four young musicians from Denmark, Sweden and Finland. With a unique combination of acoustic instruments the quartet performs handmade music with a scent of dewy pine trees, salty sea breezes and freshly brewed coffee.
FAULTLINES, releaed in 2021 is an all-improvised full-lenght recording with voice, winds & weird sounds, done in a hotel room at our first ever meeting together with David Rothenberg (wind instruments), Rob Thorne (taonga pūoro) and Steve Garden (manipulations and treatments).
This is World Music at it’s essence!!!
Kaxophonic is a new acoustic worldfusion band with original music inspired by West African rhythms and songs. With traditional drums and a snare drum, we create a fierce and funky foundation for the exciting excursions of the four saxophones. And vocals, too!
Multiple award-winning Senegalese/Swedish duo Sousou & Maher Cissoko are crossing borders in their music just like in their life together. Constantly on the move with musical and human meetings as their principal driving force. Maher was born to play kora and Sousou is one of very few female kora players in the world.
Carita Boronska is a singer/songwriter, musician and composer. Her latest album; Hypnotic Soul was released in 2018.
