Invitation to the JAZZTRAIN Networking Trip to Jazz-filled Hamburg on June 26th!
Come and join Musikcentrum Syd on a jazz networking trip to Hamburg for a meeting with Jazzbüro, Jazz Federation, Deutsche Jazz Union, and the German/Hamburg jazz industry.
How does it work?
We take the train from Malmö on the morning of June 26th and arrive in Hamburg in the afternoon. The train will also stop in Copenhagen to pick up Danish musicians, promoters, agents, and record labels. When in Hamburg, we will visit Jazzbüro and Jazz Federation, where there will be presentations, coffee, and networking.
After that, we will have a joint dinner, followed by a jazz jam session at a jazz club in Hamburg. Everyone is welcome to join the jam session, and some might also play a short showcase.
The next day, we will have a shared brunch. Participants can then choose to travel back home or stay in Hamburg for the weekend. There are also night trains from Hamburg.
Costs and Booking
You are responsible for your own travel and accommodation costs, though we may cover some coffee, dinner, or brunch. Tickets are currently very affordable, priced at 350 SEK one way. We will gather information on recommended hostels, hotels, and Airbnbs near Jazzbüro.
Musikcentrum Syd will book the tickets to Hamburg (you book your return ticket yourself) so we can sit together. There will also be meetings on the train, and participants will receive a digital goodie bag.
We have around 5 spots available for members of Musikcentrum Syd.
Why are we doing this?
This network trip is part of our ambition to develop collaborations and exchanges in our region, including Skåne, Copenhagen/Denmark, and northern Germany/Hamburg. We have previously participated in Jazz+ in Copenhagen, and JazzDanmark, Deutsche Jazz Union, along with musicians and record labels, has joined us at our Music Industry Day with a jazz theme.
In a few years, the Fehmarn Belt Bridge will be completed, reducing train travel time to Hamburg to just 2.5 hours. Our shared region has a population of 12 million, making it a significant labor market.
We look forward to your participation!
DEADLINE ON THE 7th of April and we will contact the ones that gets to go.
